About the Development Team

Our Development Team supports the Physicians Committee's programs and campaigns by managing the fundraising program, which includes individual giving, annual giving, grants, special events, and legacy giving.

About this Career Opportunity

The Development Associate will provide development and administrative support to the annual giving manager and to the overall department. The development associate will become familiar with each of the Physicians Committee's fundraising channels (events, major gifts, annual giving, grants, and planned giving) and assist in keeping the direct mail program running.

The position will provide exposure to the wide range of Physicians Committee campaigns, issues, and programs and is an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to gain fundraising experience. Growth potential includes participating in cross-departmental team projects and managing fundraising campaigns. .

Who We are Looking For

We are looking for a professional with at least one year of work experience preferably on a development/fundraising team. Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) database is a plus. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. We are also seeking someone with a strong interest in our mission who can share that enthusiasm with our constituents.

This is a full-time position that regularly requires some work to be performed at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro's Red Line). Some work can be performed remotely from a location proximate to the office if desired. The position also occasionally requires attending events that require travel and evening or weekend work.
